Flamenco Dance Classes

About flamenco

What is flamenco? Flamenco is a fiery and rhythmic style of music and dance from Andalucia in southern Spain, with lots of stamping and clapping. It is now danced around the world and has achieved the status of UNESCO “intangible world heritage”.  There are many flamenco styles (known as palos) including soleá, fandangos, alegrias, bulerias and tangos.   Susan also  includes Sevillanas in her classes but please note "Paso Doble" is not included.

What do I need to wear? Ladies may prefer to wear shoes with a small block heel and a long skirt, men can wear trousers and shoes or boots with a small heel if you have them. If you have flamenco shoes or boots, that is great too!

Who is it for?  Flamenco is for all ages and genders.  It is an expressive, solo dance and so you do not need a partner.
